Weeeeeeee!

Today was the first day this week that we had the time and day light (as it's dark when I get home from work) to go tobogganing with Bobsterette Jnr. We took her Ski-doo snow Boogie board thingy and found a place sufficiently vertical and covered in snow and ice. As Bobsterette Jnr was rather frightened/utterly terrified by the view down hill she insisted I went first.
Hoooooooooooly shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! Seriously, it must have got up to around 30mph. Doesn't sound much, but when you're hurtling (and slowly rotating trough 360°) down hill 1" from the ground, snow hitting you in the face with an air temp of -20 C it feels pretty fast and scary. I'm not young anymore, and what being a rather husky gentleman, I feared that if I came off I could well do cause myself a significant injury. That, and walking back up the hill afterwards nearly gave me a heart attack.
I wore my new thermals so my extremities (just my hands and feet you smutty beggars!) didn't start to go numb for about 45 minutes - which was pretty good going. Anyway, it was great fun and I as I haven't been tobogganing for decades, well worth a trip down memory lane.

Oh man, if you love mountain biking you'd friggin love this shit. It's da bomb! Plus, in the summer you can break your neck going down these hills on your bike.
